The Beach House Villa
Any closer to the water's edge and you'd be swimming.
Our premier Villa is directly on the beach with fabulous
views of the Caribbean! Large patios, decks and
verandahs create added "outdoor" living space.
From the second floor, the Negril coastline enters the
living room to our most luxurious accommodation. An
oversized kitchen and larger baths with double sinks put
the finishing touches to a perfect paradise. An exterior
stair leads up to an immense railed rooftop deck with
sweeping views of the coast!
Dining
Oceanfront Beach House Restaurant and Bar which offers
casual island dining right on the beach and is open for
breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night drinks. Internet
service is available at our Cyber Cafe.
Activities
Within a five minute walk are open-air crafts markets,
the Village Center, tennis courts, volleyball courts,
and water sports centers offering snorkeling, scuba and
every aquatic sport imaginable.
BLOODY BAY
This is the most northerly bay on the Negril coastline,
and can be accessed by way of small dirt roads off the
main highway. In the 18th Century it was a haven for
pirates. Jack Rackam, "Calico Jack", named for his
penchant for calico underwear, and his bloodthirsty
women pirates, Anne Bonney and Mary Read, frequented the
area and were captured by the British in 1720. The Bay
is said to be named, not for the pirates' exploits, but
for the whalers who butchered their catches in the
waters, causing them to be red with blood.
BOOBY CAY
This small island, situated off the coast of Negril,
is a popular destination for water sports operators. It
was used for the filming of Jules Verne's "20,000
Leagues Under The Sea". The island was probably named
after the booby bird, a tern which breeds in the cays
off the island after spending most of the year out to
sea. The booby eggs, once regarded as a delicacy, are
now rarely seen. They were traditionally collected by
Arawaks, a custom that was continued by local fishermen.
It is said that the birds were called "bobby" or "crazy"
because they were so easily captured.
MAYFIELD FALLS
A breathtaking drive up into rugged hill country, to
a valley that time forgot. This special place is only a
46 minute drive. "Falls Walking" is a hike right up the
falls themselves through virgin rain forest with
intermittent swimming "pools" and cascades to bathe in.
An open air bamboo bar and restaurant are at the base.
Water shoes and bathing attire are recommended.
NEGRIL LIGHTHOUSE
Located on the Western end of Negril, the lighthouse is
a Landmark. The concrete tower is 66 feet tall and the
light is elevated 100 feet above sea level.
ROARING RIVER
This is a favorite site for nature lovers. Situated at
Shrewsbury Estate near Petersfield, this beauty spot is
still largely unspoiled. Water gushes up from the ground
and flows to join another mountain stream. There is an
old stone aqueduct which takes off some of the water and
in the side of the cliff is the Roaring River cave, the
mouth of a subterranean passage. The cave may be
explored, and if you are lucky, you will catch locals
that play music on rocks with bamboo inside the cave
(the acoustics are great).
